Dating and relationships are just the tip of the iceberg for human nature. This article is most likely going to half piss you off and half make you happy, and that’s the problem…
It’s time for a stern talking to for those of you at each end of the political spectrum. There’s something out there that chaps my hide even more than the trite youthful use of the term “Bro.” Yes, I know it’s hard to believe, but there is something out there more annoying than the term “Bro.”
Mindless buzzword regurgitation, or MBR for short.
To begin, let’s take a look at three go to examples from the “knuckle dragging, Deliverance banjo playing, I’m too cool for my cuck friends” conservatives.
What was once a thought provoking philosophical reference on the movie Fight Club has now been bastardized into the premiere putdown for those on the right.
“Quit whining snowflake!”
“So sad for mommy’s little snowflake.”
Snow flake! Snow flake! SNOW FLAKE!
Yes conservatives, I get it. Deep down in our reptilian brain we’re all the same, but reverting to playground era name calling isn’t going to make you seem any more intelligent. How about changing it up for a bit? Maybe calling whiny liberals “diamonds” or “rainbow farts?”
It’s the word “flake,” isn’t it? Too hard to pass up I guess.
We actually are all special in our own way, it’s just more in the summation of our natural ability and environmental conditioning. It’s about our wants, our desires, our interests, our talents, our strengths and weaknesses. At the higher levels, we are different.
2. “Safe Space.”
I’ll admit I’m conflicted on the concept of a safe space. On one side, it’s important to allow an individual the right to avoid physical or emotional harassment. On the other side, if you’re just being a whiny human that can’t handle the opinions of others, you TRIGGERED p*ssy (bonus buzz word!), then you need to grow a backbone and stand up for yourself and your beliefs without blowing an emotional fuse.
Name calling again huh? It’s because it sounds close to “Fuck” right?
“Cuck” derived from the world “Cuckold.”
(of a man) make (another man) a cuckold by having a sexual relationship with his wife.
Cuck has come from the “Alt-right” to reference any man that is effeminate and weak, whether with women, or even conservative politicians that aren’t “conservative enough.”
Whatever happened to the classic, “wimp?” Or even “bitch?”
And what is the fascination with sex? It’s the religious taboo in you isn’t it?
Conservatives, get with the program (science) and stop it with the “alternative facts.” Climate change is scientifically proven. There’s probably not an old man in the sky. This is a country built by immigrants. Fox News uses way to many ALL CAPS and FEAR TACTICS!
Libtards (or libturds), now it’s your turn. But stooping to playground name calling isn’t your forte. No, you make your elegant points with sterile sounding words like these.
relating to or characterized by prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women, on the basis of sex.
"his attitude to women is patronizing and sexist"
“Quit being sexist!”
I’m all for giving women as many opportunities to succeed as they want, but it’s not sexist to acknowledge that men and women are fundamentally different. We have different biology, different psychology, different hormones, different “no-no squares.”
We. Are. Different.
And guess what, that’s okay! Have those of you screaming for us to all be exactly the same really put thought into what you’re asking for? Do you really think that would be much fun?
Women have strengths, and men have strengths. Women are much better at managing their emotions. Men are better at spatial awareness, like driving a car (yikes). Women are more nurturing and people oriented. Men are more driven and object oriented. Women generally have less physical strength than men.
Women aren’t going to ask you out most of the time because it’s not in their nature. That brings me to…
a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing.
Yes, there are exceptions to stereotypes, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t mostly true. If 80% of the time you held a scorpion in your hand and it stung you, would you go into each new experience with scorpions expecting not to get stung?
It’s simple human nature. We revert back to what gives us the best chance at safety and survival. Why do you think we sit in the same spot in the cafeteria each day? Or when we have unassigned seats in class, what do we do then? Do we move around randomly each day, or do we sit where we have already established comfort? What races and ethnicities sit together? Is it a perfect mix of diversity or does there seem to be a detectable pattern?
Check out this map showing one dot for each person in the U.S. according to race and where they live.
Zoom in on the large metropolitan areas. Notice anything? What about the rural versus urban areas? What about the southeast?
There is a reason people settle where they do – and yes, I get the fact that socio-economics play a role, but that doesn’t keep Hispanic and African American peoples from coalescing.
If it weren’t at least mostly true, it wouldn’t keep getting reinforced!
3. “Sweeping Generalization”
A sweeping generalization is where one applies a general rule to a specific instance. This phrase comes up on a semi-regular basis in my conversations on reddit. I’ll be demonstrating how a woman’s interest level works – “Sweeping generalization!” Talking about the concept of challenge – “Sweeping generalization!” I’m not Einstein, but do people look at his Theory of Special Relativity now and cry, “Sweeping generalization!?”
Maybe life isn’t nearly as complicated as we try to make it out to be.
Liberals, the further you are to the left, the more in danger you are of ignoring how human nature compels us to act. We are still emotionally driven human beings, not logical ones. Progress is good, but sticking our head in the sand for aspects that are out of our control is ill advised.
Extreme hatred from the right, is the same at it’s core as extreme hatred from the left.
Hate is hate.
The further you polarize to one side, the more likely you’ll abandon intellect and reason for the subjective primal security that the reptilian brain craves.
I’ve got a crazy idea. How about instead finding things to disagree on, we work to find common ground? Why can’t I be against abortion and be a liberal? Why can’t I be for guns and be a liberal? Why can’t I be against mainstream religion and be a conservative? Why can’t I be against deceptive capitalism and be a conservative? Why can’t I pick and choose the ideas I believe in?
Maybe we need to reconsider this whole liberal/conservative idea anyway...
